Chapter Three

From Marissa's Kitchen

Hey y'all, I'm Marissa. Most mornings you'll find me wrapped in a quilt with a good book and a too-big cup of coffee while my sourdough starter bubbles away on the counter.

Every loaf is naturally leavened, cold-fermented for a slow 36 hours, and baked in small batches in my home kitchen. Nothing fancy — just flour, water, salt, time, and a whole lot of love.

Proudly baking for our neighbors in Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nolensville, Thompson's Station, Fairview & all of Williamson County.

Kitchen Notes

Everything folks around Franklin ask us.

Where can I buy fresh sourdough bread in Franklin, TN?

Right here! Bake Me Happy Sourdough is a small home bakery in Franklin, Tennessee. Marissa bakes naturally leavened sourdough in small batches each week — reserve your loaves online, pay with Venmo, and pick them up fresh on bake day.

Where do I pick up my bread?

From the cooler on our front porch in Franklin, TN (37064). Your loaves are bagged and labeled with your name, and the exact address is included in your order confirmation email. We send a "your bread is in the cooler" email the moment it's ready.

Do you serve Brentwood, Spring Hill, and the rest of Williamson County?

Yes! Our neighbors come from Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nolensville, Thompson's Station, Fairview & all of Williamson County. Pickup is an easy drive from anywhere in Williamson County.

How do ordering and payment work?

Pick your loaves on this page — the counter shows exactly how many are left this week. Orders close Wednesday night and bread is ready Thursday. Pay with Venmo within 12 hours (or by the order cutoff) to hold your spot.

How do I keep my loaf fresh?

Store it cut-side down on a board, or in a paper or cloth bag, for 2–3 days. Plastic softens that good crust. For longer, slice it and freeze — toast straight from the freezer.

What if I forget to pay on Venmo?

We'll send a friendly reminder email before your payment deadline. If we still haven't seen a Venmo by then, your loaves go back on the shelf for the next neighbor. Already paid and got that email anyway? Just reply and Marissa will set it right.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Of course. Just text Marissa before the order cutoff (Wednesday, September 30 at 9:00 pm) and she'll sort it out.

Is sourdough easier to digest?

Many folks find it is! The long, slow fermentation breaks down some of the starches and gluten. It's still wheat, though — it's not safe for celiac or wheat allergies.
